Biggest Busts of the 2020 Draft

Bust
/bəst/

  1. A highly touted or selected draftee who fails to meet expectations
  2. A woman’s chest as measured around her breasts.

A truly polarizing word. On one hand, they’re a man’s best friend. There are few better things in life than having a good old pair of milk missiles bouncing around in your face. But on the other hand, a bust is a Dynasty manager’s worst nightmare. In the spirit of sports balls and melon balls, let’s look back to the 2020 Dynasty Draft to evaluate picks using our scientifically and totally not misogynistic grading scale based on sizes of tits.

The Scale – (1 = small/not good, 10 = big/fucking horrible)

  1. Shirt Turnips
  2. Jiggle Muffins
  3. Sweater Puppies
  4. Honkers
  5. Whizz Bangs
  6. Bazookas
  7. Sloppy Knockers
  8. Thunder Jugs
  9. Milk Wagons
  10. Meat Mountains

Seigrist (1.02) Clyde Edwards Helaire

Clyde Edwards-Helaire was drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs in the 1st round of the 2020 draft at 32nd overall. He became the starting running back in his first game (Damien Williams opted out of the season), and he set a record as the youngest player to rush for at least 130 yards and a touchdown in his NFL debut. He had a successful rookie season, rushing for 803 yards and four touchdowns while also catching 36 passes for 297 receiving yards and one touchdown.

In 2021, Edwards-Helaire had consecutive 100-yard rushing games before injuring his knee in Week 5 and being placed on injured reserve. He returned to play ten games and finished the season with 517 rushing yards, four touchdowns, 129 receiving yards, and two receiving touchdowns. In the 2022 season, he lost his starting job due to inconsistent production and injuries, and he was placed on injured reserve in November 2022. He was then activated during the playoffs, but was a healthy scratch for Super Bowl LVII. Yikes.

Considering his declining year over year production, things for CEH are not looking good. There’s a good chance he remains somewhat fantasy relevant over the next few years, but – considering the draft capital – I think we can, at this point in time, consider him a bust.

Notable RBs still on the board:

  • Jonathan Taylor
  • D’andre Swift
  • JK Dobbins
  • Cam Akers

Bust Rating: 9 – Milk Wagons

Darren (1.10) Keyshawn Vaughn

Ke’Shawn Vaughn was drafted by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the third round of the 2020 NFL Draft. In his rookie season, Vaughn played in 13 games but saw limited action. He only had 26 rushing attempts for 109 yards and one touchdown, as well as five receptions for 34 yards. His lack of production was partly due to the presence of other talented running backs on the Buccaneers’ roster, including Leonard Fournette and Ronald Jones II.

The 2021 season didn’t go any better. Vaughn only had 44 total attempts and catches on the year, and was greeted the following year by the Bucs shiny new toy named Rachaad White. This led to a career low 35 TOTAL SNAPS in the 2022 season. When given the opportunity to play, Vaughn has not made a significant impact on the field. He has been horrible in pass protection and has difficulty finding running lanes.

Notable RBs still on the board:

  • Antonio Gibson
  • AJ Dillon

Bust Rating: 10 – Meat Mountains

Logger (1.12) Jalen Reagor

Jalen Reagor was selected by the Philadelphia Eagles in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft. In his rookie season, Reagor played in 11 games and had 31 receptions for 396 yards and one touchdown.

In 2021, Reagor showed some flashes, recording a similar stat line to his rookie season with 33 receptions for 299 yards and 2 touchdowns. His mistakes in critical situations were becoming far too common, and his overall clear lack of motivation on the field led to the Eagles desire to move on from this mistake, and he was traded to the Vikings for a 7th and conditional 4th round pick. Perhaps a fresh start in a less hostile city would be the key to him turning things around…

WRONG. Holy fucking shit, this guy genuinely doesn’t give a damn about his career. His laziness is so glaringly obvious, and showcased every Sunday in 4k for all to see. I wouldn’t be surprised if we end up seeing Reagor make an appearance in the XFL soon.

Notable WRs still on the board:

  • Tee Higgins
  • Michael Pittman Jr
  • Brandon Aiyuk

Bust Rating: 7 – Sloppy Knockers

Fuzz (2.01) Denzel Mims

Denzell Mims was drafted by the New York Jets in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft. At 6’3” tall and boasting a sub-4.4 40 yard dash, Mims was one of the more hyped up sleeper picks at WR during the 2020 Dynasty Draft.

In his rookie season with the Jets, Mims played in 9 games and recorded 23 receptions for 357 yards and no touchdowns. He missed some time due to injuries and COVID-19 protocols, but showed potential as a deep threat and a reliable target for the Jets’ quarterbacks. He followed up that lackluster season with only 8 total receptions the following year.

In 2022, Mims finished the season with 11 catches for 186 yards. Through his three years in the NFL, he’s appeared in 30 games and STILL hasn’t scored a single touchdown. At this point in his career, there are rumblings that he may be a cut candidate during the offseason unless he shows drastic improvement… which he won’t….

Notable WRs still on the board:

  • Tee Higgins
  • Michael Pittman Jr
  • Brandon Aiyuk

Bust Rating: 6 – Bazookas
